These degree seeking doctoral programs are intended for students who have earned at least a bachelor's or master’s degree at the time their application is submitted. Early Admit applicants - those who complete their degree before the program begins - are also eligible to apply.

All doctoral degree programs start in the Fall term and is offered in a cohort format.

DNP Post-Doctoral Certificate Program
The Post-Doctoral Certificate Program is designed for the APRN who has a doctorate in nursing and wishes to broaden their scope of practice. The certificate program starts once a year in the Summer (May).

The form below will open your initial application for admission to the cohort. This initial application will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. After submitting the initial application form, you will need to submit your $50 application fee to start the application process. Applicants will then receive information regarding the submission of all required supporting documentation.

HOME RUN Education Award Opportunity

The HOME RUN application is administered by the University of Hawaiʻi on behalf of the State of Hawaiʻi, in coordination with partner institutions, including Chaminade University of Honolulu.

I understand that submission of a HOME RUN Education Award application does not guarantee funding. Final award eligibility and decisions are determined by an internal review committee and may take into account program readiness, likelihood of academic success, and alignment with workforce needs.

I understand that the HOME RUN Education Award includes a program completion requirement and a post-graduation service obligation in rural Hawai‘i (including neighbor islands and rural areas of Oahu) as defined by HOME RUN. Applicants from outside of Hawai‘i may be considered, provided they commit to fulfilling the service obligation in Hawai‘i. I further understand that failure to complete the program and/or fulfill the required service commitment may result in an obligation to repay award funds, including potential penalties, in accordance with program guidelines.

I understand that submitting an application for the HOME RUN Education Award does not obligate me to participate in the program if selected. These acknowledgements are intended to provide upfront information only. If selected, I will be required to review and sign additional formal, legally binding agreements outlining the full terms and conditions of the award, including service commitments and any repayment obligations if the program requirements are not fulfilled.

The DNP requires that all applicants hold an active, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the state in which nursing practice will occur.

It is required that DMFT students throughout the duration of the program, be clinically active in the field, providing counseling or therapy to clients with an active unencumbered license or under appropriate supervision if pre-licensed. Applicants to DMFT are required to submit some form of verification of clinical practice such as a letter confirming their site of practice, clinical caseload and job description, or a letter of verification from their supervisor. I acknowledge the program I have applied to requires proof of clinical activity.
